Our Greatest Strength: Our Staff.

Mountain Sky guests regularly rebook at a 90+% rate each season, and staff interaction with our guests is the single most important ingredient to our success. We’re looking for people who understand the importance of a friendly smile and a kind word. Our guests aren’t here to be served by a staff that is ‘seen but not heard’… they want to hear your story, share a laugh, and experience true western hospitality at its finest. Our staff members are personable, adventurous, hard-working, honest, and are willing to pitch in when they see that a helping hand is needed. We’re looking for people with a desire and a willingness to learn.

You’ll also join a community focused on our Core Values, intent on impacting not just our guests, but the community in which we live.

Our Jobs

We’re looking forward to building an exciting and dynamic team for our 2021 season! We are looking for staff who can work a minimum of June 6 – August 29, with employment available as early as April 19 and as late at October 31. See below for current openings!

Assistant Wellness Director – As Assistant Wellness Director, you will help coordinate our wellness programs, and work closely with the Wellness Director to ensure smooth operation of the facilities. You will contribute to wellness education and program development and implementation, as well as ensure that the Mountain Sky Guest Ranch facility is maintained on a consistent basis and that all guests are satisfied with their experience at the Wellness Center at Mountain Sky and the Yoga Studio at West Creek Ranch.

Wrangler – The ideal wrangler candidate will demonstrate both excellent customer service and strong horsemanship skills. Wranglers will lead rides on 17,000 private acres, in addition to the neighboring Gallatin National Forest. Trail rides aren’t your typical nose-to-tail walking dude rides; our guests stay for a week at a time, and they come to ride! We lead walk, trot, and lope rides, all with a heavy instruction component. A riding video will be required from applicants not able to join us for a live riding interview, but it is not necessary to submit the video with your initial application. Please note that personal horses may be approved but outside dogs are not allowed. 3 – 8 month positions available. Dates are mid-May to August 28 at minimum, with a start date as early as March 1 and an end date as late as October 31.

Dining Room Assistant Manager – Assists the dining room manager in all aspects of running our guest and staff dining rooms, as well as our outdoor “meal ride” experiences. In the guest dining room, we serve buffet-style breakfast and lunch, then offer a multi-course, casual fine dining experience for dinner. Key duties include staff training, management of Guest Services staff on shift, communicating guest needs to the kitchen staff, organizing and maintaining the guest and staff dining rooms. While related experience is preferred, this is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for customer service to develop management skills! Position runs April 16 – October 31.

Housekeeping Assistant Manager – Assists the housekeeping manager in all aspects of running the department. Daily housekeeping duties in our 32 guest cabins and shared facilities are required. Primary duties include assisting with training, managing and working alongside our Guest Services staff as they rotate through the department. Must effectively communicate with other ranch departments to fulfill special requests and ensure guest needs are met. Assists with delivering stored and shipped items to guest cabins, upkeep of laundry, inventory and vendor management. Runs the department in the managers absence. Position runs April 16 – October 31.

Hay & Cattle: Noxious Weed Sprayer Assistant – This position will assist the noxious weed sprayer in implementing a weed management program across property. Main duties will include herbicide application and other methods of vegetation management, documentation of spray tracks and chemical use, maintenance of equipment and assisting in other ranch duties as assigned. Must be available mid-May through August.

Guest Services (“All-Around”) – The largest workforce on the ranch, this crew rotates through our dining room, housekeeping department and kids program (during the summer months) on a shift-to-shift basis, usually with one dishwashing shift per week. Depending upon interest and skill set, an additional shift or two per week might be spent leading hikes, transporting guests in passenger vans, working in the gift shop, helping with landscaping, and more. 3 – 6 month positions available. June 6 to August 29 at minimum, with a start date as early as May 1 and an end date as late as October 31.

Bartender & Guest Services – This hybrid position combines work in Guest Services with bartending duties. This person would support the Bar Manager in all aspects of the job with primary duties include making drinks, helping guests, and restocking and cleaning duties. This role requires previous bartending experience and would work an estimated 2-3 evenings per week in the Mountain Sky saloon. See the Guest Services job description for more detail.
