Welcome to the Mountain Sky Family

Since we opened as a dude ranch in 1929, Mountain Sky Guest Ranch has topped the list of the nation’s upscale guest ranch resorts. While there’s no doubt you’ll admire the breathtaking views, fine food, amenities and luxury environment, it’s our staff who make the difference.

When you arrive at the ranch, you become a member of the Mountain Sky family. We want you to experience not just superior service, but a warm and friendly staff truly dedicated to sharing this beautiful setting with you and your family. We are a group of people who care for each other and come together to share friendships and experiences with our guests from around the world.

If you return to Mountain Sky Guest Ranch through the years, you’ll always see many familiar guest and staff faces. We look forward to welcoming you to our Montana home.

The Blank Family of Businesses

A Piece of Paradise

Mountain Sky sits on over 17,000 operational acres of unspoiled wilderness in the heart of Yellowstone Country. Our property begins near the mighty Yellowstone River on the floor of the aptly-named Paradise Valley, and continues upward through grass-covered foothills, meadows filled with sagebrush, thick pine forests and stands of aspen until you reach the vast Gallatin National Forest at our back door. The trout-filled, rushing waters of Big Creek flow 4.5 miles through the entire property, linking the main lodge and our guest cabins with our working ranch operation down below. Trails running through the Gallatin National Forest are available to explore under permit by the Forest Service, and one of the world’s greatest natural wonders – Yellowstone National Park – is just a picturesque 30-minute drive away.

Due to Mountain Sky’s unique location, our guests often choose to extend their stay in Montana before or after visiting the ranch to further explore this magnificent region.

For those seeking the culture of museums and fine dining, the towns of Livingston and Bozeman, with their rich western history, set the perfect stage. Livingston’s restaurants offer some of the finest western cuisine, and the Depot Museum, as well as the quaint shops on Main Street, bring the old west to life.

The town of Bozeman is set in one of the state’s most stunning regions and boasts the beautiful campus of Montana State University. The days pass easily hiking in the Rocky Mountains, discovering the world-renowned work of paleontologist Jack Horner at the Museum of the Rockies, or shopping along the streets of historic downtown Bozeman. You may enjoy a tour of the Lewis and Clark Caverns near Three Forks. The perfect ending to any day is an enjoyable dinner at one of the numerous local restaurants that feature casual and fine dining.

“My first and last word when I think of Mountain Sky is WOW! It is a beautiful full service resort facility nestled in the picturesque Gallatin National Forest, surrounded by magnificent mountain peaks, and only a short drive to Yellowstone National Park. But, perhaps the most impressive feature of Mountain Sky is its spectacular service staff, from the front desk, to the kitchen/bar, to the stables, and everywhere in between. I have never experienced a more pleasant, professional, and helpful group of people, and now, new friends.”
