We’re looking forward to assembling our 2020 team! Our three month positions will run Sunday May 31st through Sunday August 23rd. Our full season is over six months, with work available as early as April 6th, and as late as November.
Guest Services – The ultimate variety job! Our guest services team is the largest crew on the ranch, and rotate not just day-to-day, but shift-to-shift through work at our kids program, in our dining room, with the housekeeping department and washing dishes. Even more variety is available depending on your skill set, including guiding guest hikes, working in our retail shop, helping out in the saloon, working at our high ropes challenge course, and more. We’re looking for people that are energetic, able to adapt to changing work environments, and willing to put the same effort into every task! 3 – 7 month positions available. May 31 to August 23 at minimum, with a start date as early as April 6 and an end date as late as October 31.
Guest Services: Challenge Course Facilitator – This hybrid position combines work in Guest Services with the opportunity to work with a variety of guests at the challenge course. Primary duties include group facilitation, program design and high ropes risk management. Successful candidates will work with Mountain Sky guests, guests from neighboring West Creek Ranch and participants from area non-profit organizations. Training is provided, but related experience a plus. Seeking candidates with an aptitude for facilitation, leading games, guiding and public speaking. May 18 through October 18 preferred, with a start as early as April 16 and an end date as late as October 31.
Guest Services: Front Desk – This hybrid position combines work in Guest Services with support of our front desk staff. Primary duties include answering phones, helping guests at the front desk, responding to email inquiries, assisting guests with gift shop purchases, transporting guests in 14 passenger vans, and supporting other departments in order to fulfill guest requests. Must be 21 or older with a clean driving record. The front desk component of the job would be limited to training in May, and the summer months of June, July and August when we are at our peak guest count. May 20 to August 30 preferred, with a start date as early as April 16 and an end date as late as October 31.
Guest Services: Teen Program – This hybrid position works part-time in Guest Services while coordinating our teen programming for guests 13+, which runs during the months of June, July and August. Must be 21 or older with a clean driving record to transport participants to various off-site locations in large passenger vans. Responsible for coordinating daily activities like photo scavenger hunts, high adventure on our ropes course, evenings at our clay shooting range, and more! Coordinating with parents and with kitchen staff is a key component of this role. May 20 to August 23 preferred, with a start date as early as April 16 and an end date as late as October 31.
Guest Services: Yoga and/or Wellness Host – This hybrid position works part-time in Guest Services while providing support for our wellness program. Those certified in Yoga would have the opportunity to teach morning and afternoon classes for a variety of ages and ability levels, with additional time spent supporting our wellness center staff and therapists through customer service, activity tracking, facility upkeep and inventory.
Housekeeping Manager – Our housekeeping department upholds 4-diamond cleaning standards in a resort ranch environment. Primary duties include training, managing and wokring alongside our Guest Services staff as they rotate through the department, working with fellow managers to fulfill special requests and ensure guest needs are met, delivering stored and shipped items to guest cabins, upkeep of laundry, inventory and vendor management. Daily housekeeping duties in our guest cabins and shared facilities are required. 7 month position – early April to October 31.
Wrangler – The ideal wrangler candidate will demonstrate both excellent customer service and strong horsemanship skills. Wranglers will lead rides on 17,000 private acres, in addition to the neighboring Gallatin National Forest. Trail rides aren’t your typical nose-to-tail walking dude rides; our guests stay for a week at a time, and they come to ride! We lead walk, trot, and lope rides, all with a heavy instruction component. A riding video will be required from applicants not able to join us for a live riding interview, but it is not necessary to submit the video with your initial application. Please note that personal horses may be approved but outside dogs are not allowed. 3 – 7 month positions available. Dates are mid-May to August 22 at minimum, with a start date as early as April 1 and an end date as late as October 31.
Bar Manager – This position will manage the Mountain Sky Saloon, which includes general bartending duties pre- and post-dinner, providing wine and cocktail service during dinner, cleaning, inventory, and assisting with dinner service. Must be available to work our full season. Related experience a must. Successful candidates will have a genuine love of customer service! Must be available late April – October 31.
Dining Room Manager – Responsible for oversight of our guest and staff dining rooms, as well as our outdoor “meal ride” experiences. In the guest dining room, we serve buffet-style breakfast and lunch, then offer a multi-course, casual fine dining experience for dinner. Key duties include staff training, management of Guest Services staff on shift, communicating guest needs to the kitchen staff, organizing and maintaining the guest and staff dining rooms. While related experience is preferred, this is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for customer service to develop management skills! Position runs April 16 – October 31.
Dining Room Assistant Manager – Assists the dining room manager in all aspects of running our guest and staff dining rooms, as well as our outdoor “meal ride” experiences. Position runs April 16 – October 31.
Golf Course: Groundskeeper -Will perform a diverse range of duties involved in golf course maintenance and construction, including semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work, on our 9 hole golf course. Must be available a minimum of June 1 – August 24.
Grounds and Maintenance – Responsible for the upkeep of lawns, buildings, swimming pool, occasional dishwashing and the transportation of our guests in 14 passenger vans. Must be 21, have a clean driving record, and be comfortable with and able to operate heavy mowing equipment. 4 – 6 month positions available.
Hay and Cattle: Ranch Hand – Candidate must have strong work ethic, self-motivated, detail oriented and willingness to work a varied work schedule based on time of year. Looking for someone mechanically inclined with experience working with livestock operations, knowledgeable with irrigation systems including hand line and wheel line, able to ride horseback in mountainous areas, and able to successfully maneuver haying equipment including but not limited to tractor, baler, cutter, hay bine and hauler. Additional responsibilities include building, welding and repairing of fences, caring for livestock, monitoring grass/range health, maintenance of ATV’s, truck and ranch equipment. 3 to 7 month positions are available.
Horse Program: Horse Trainer – The goal for this position is to ensure that a high percentage of our horse herd is made up of safe and easily guided guest horses. The successful candidate will commit themselves to the program and will work with us to continually develop this new role. This is a year-round position. Kitchen: AM & PM Sous Chefs – This position will assist the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, including the preparation of hot and cold foods for banquet-style meals, receiving food orders, maintaining the highest in food and sanitation standards, and running the kitchen in the Executive Chef’s absence. 6 month position.
Kitchen: Assistant Pastry Cook – This position will assist the Pastry Chef with all aspects of running the bake shop. Daily responsibilities include the preparation of fresh baked goods, including breads, pastries, cookies, pies, cakes and dessert for banquet-style dinner service. May be required to assist with kitchen duties when needed.
Kitchen: Breakfast Cook – This position will work directly with the AM Sous Chef to assist the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, including the preparation of hot and cold foods for banquet-style meals, and maintaining the highest in food and sanitation standards. 6 and 4 1/2 month positions are available.
Kitchen: Cook – This position will assist the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, including the preparation of hot and cold foods for banquet-style meals, receiving of food orders, and maintaining the highest in food and sanitation standards. 6 and 4 ½ month positions are available.
Kitchen: Prep Cook – This entry-level position is responsible for the preparation of ingredients for guest and staff meals, with a tremendous opportunity for growth. 6 and 3 month positions are available.
